European Launch for IRI Holistic Retail Solution

February 11 2016

US consumer data giant IRI has expanded its retail offer in Europe with the launch of a solution called IRI Holistic Retail Solution (IRI HRS), combining analytics from many retail data sources in a single unified platform.

Roberto BanderaIRI HRS has been developed to help retailers understand in-store performance issues, and make decisions about pricing and promotions, optimise in-store assortments, and work with manufacturers to plan store formats. The new solution is underpinned by the firm's CPG industry data management platform Liquid Data, which IRI says makes it possible to aggregate and find associations for 'trillions' of data points in a matter of seconds.

The service combines any number of disparate data sets that are often held in multiple systems or formats - including data that is created internally, or bought from third parties. Examples are point-of-sale (POS) data from every till in every store, supply chain data, financial data, shopper demographics, competitive information, loyalty card data, promotional calendars, seasonal information, and online shopper behaviour data.

Roberto Bandera (pictured), SVP Solutions and Innovation Europe, comments: 'Retailers understand the importance of data, but they have so much of it that it is often difficult to access and to use in a timely and sensible way. Once there is a single unified platform containing all of the knowledge, it is much easier to unlock answers to vital questions. IRI HRS can address critical business questions in seconds instead of days or months'.
