DRG Buys Health Plan Data Firm Adaptive

March 1 2016

In the US, pharma researcher Decision Resources Group (DRG) has acquired health plan data specialist Adaptive Software. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Joe LayneFounded in 2001, Kansas City-based Adaptive has developed a management platform called RxFlex for pharmacy benefit managers, health plans and hospitals; while its RxComplete offers a single platform web-based solution for managing clients, formularies, benefit plans, networks and pricing. The firm's customers currently manage pharmacy benefits for more than 95 million US citizens.

DRG says the acquisition represents a 'further push' into the payer market, which will extend its role in providing data, insight and software solutions relating to drug efficacy, pricing, market access, contracting strategies and benefit design.
