Truven Expands Data Integration Platform

March 7 2016

Healthcare analytics solutions provider Truven is launching an enhanced Custom Solutions offering for hospitals and health systems, promising to help hospitals improve care while reducing both cost and risk.

Truven is to be acquired by big data division IBM Watson Health for $2.6bn, as per an announcement in February.

The new tools, powered by Truven's data lake technology, integrate data from a wide variety of internal and external sources and will address clinical and operational performance management. The firm says they should help providers wrestling with new payment and delivery models as well as a mass of data from disparate sources.

Features of the Solutions include interactive dashboards, portable analytics and statistical models embedded within electronic health records, and bundled payment and payment reform tools.

Roy Martin, EVP and COO of Truven's commercial division, comments: 'There is no one-size-fits-all approach for hospitals when it comes to effectively and successfully managing the transition to value-based care. With the launch of Custom Solutions, providers can now cut through the clutter of disparate technologies and siloed data, and seamlessly integrate information that will help them assess the market, improve performance and better engage with their patients'.

Truven, whose brands include MarketScan and 100 Top Hospitals, has its principal offices in Ann Arbor, MI and in Chicago and Denver. Web site: www.truvenhealth.com .
