Channel 4 Promotes Rose as Whitehead Leaves for Google

In the UK, TV broadcaster Channel 4 has promoted Sarah Rose to the role of Director Consumer Insight, following the news that Gill Whitehead is leaving to join Google as Senior Director of Market Insight, EMEA.

Sarah Rose and Gill WhiteheadWhitehead (nee Pritchard) was promoted to the role of Director of Audience Technologies and Insight in 2011, leading all research and data activities including their dissemination and use. Earlier, she served as Channel 4's Director of Strategy and Corporate Development.

Upon her departure, Rose will move up from her current position Director of Commercial and Business Development, responsible for generating all non-ad sales revenues across the broadcaster's brands and services. Prior to this, she was Channel 4's Head of VoD and Channel Development. Rose previously held Board positions at Freeview, Digital UK and Box TV; was General Manager for ITV Digital Channels; and held a number of general management and business development positions at Carlton Television.

In a statement, CEO David Abraham said: 'Gill has played a critical role in driving Channel 4's data strategy and creating an industry leading model for viewer engagement. She has made a huge contribution to the success of Channel 4 over the last eight years and we wish her all the very best in her new role.
