March 14 2016

Former YouGov UK CEO Tim Britton is joining consultancy PwC to lead strategy and transformation in its r2i research and insight centre of excellence.

Tim Brittonr2i offers a full suite of research solutions, with a strong focus on data visualisation tools and collaboration with clients to drive actions.

Britton joined YouGov in 2008 as UK CEO, added the role of EMEA COO in 2011 and swapped it for Head of Global Reports in 2013. In 2010 he founded YouGov's reports business, which now offers more than 200 reports worldwide. Earlier in his career he spent two spells at IFF Research, the latter as a Director from 2000 to 2005 and then as MD from 2005 to 2007. Since leaving YouGov he has worked in consulting roles with PwC and in the brewery he owns with his wife (www.oldershawbrewery.com ).

In his new role, he will 'oversee the digitalisation of r2I's business model', and help drive its growth in the UK and overseas. Honor Mallon, PwC Partner and head of r2I comments: 'Tim Britton is a well-known name in the research industry who played a key role in transforming YouGov into a global brand... We are fortunate that Tim has agreed to work with PwC's r2i centre of excellence at a time when our global business is expanding and our development of new data sources, data analytics and new research technologies is creating significant market opportunities'.

Britton himself comments: 'The research and data market is currently at a real crossroads, clients have never had so much information at their disposal but this does not always mean that using it to determine the best decision to take is an easy thing to do. I am certain that the ability we have at within r2i to bring together research, wider data sources and analytics; together with our deep business understanding will provide clients with an extremely valuable new option'.

Mallon made the announcement on the eve of the MRS annual conference where PwC is teaming up with the Society to launch a report on the state of the research industry called 'The Business of Evidence 2016'.

PwC's network of firms covers 157 countries and employs more than 208,000 people. The division is on the web at www.pwc.co.uk/r2i .
