Deep Focus Hires Leader for Consumer Insights Arm

In New York, creative agency Deep Focus has appointed Jonathan Lum as US Chief Strategy Officer, responsible for overseeing strategy and analytics, as well as the firm's consumer insights consulting team The Intelligence Group.

Deep Focus is part of global marketing services network Engine Group, with services including research, strategy and analytics; proprietary trend research; creative and technology; content marketing; and distribution strategy and publishing. Lum (pictured) joins with more than twenty years' experience gained in senior leadership roles in ad, media and market research agencies. Most recently, he worked at ICF International/Olson/PulsePoint, as President of Strategy + Innovation, leading 70 multi-disciplinary strategists in areas including analytics, anthropology and brand strategy. Earlier in his career, he was Senior Brand Strategy Director at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners; Group Planning Director, SVP at BBDP; Director of Strategy for Faith Popcorn's BrainReserve; and Group Planning Director at Young & Rubicam. He began his qual / quant market research career in Sydney, Australia.

In his new role, Lum will also oversee strategy for the New York hub of Engine, and will work alongside sister firms: sports marketing agency Synergy, customer engagement agency PAA, and creative studio Moment Studio.
