The Sound Launches Filmmaking Division

March 24 2016

Strategy and innovation agency The Sound has launched a dedicated content division called The Sound Media, which will harness the firm's anthropological and filmmaking expertise to produce documentaries and culture-focused content.

Dave ReesFounded in 2006, the company now has offices in New York, Chicago, London, Mumbai, Toronto and Vancouver. Led by The Sound co-founder and Chief Ideas Officer Ian Pierpoint and VP/Head of Film Dave Rees (pictured), the new division produces content across four distinct channels - Stamp, spotlighting brands and their role in shaping culture; GenEdge, focusing on youth and the global teenager experience; Blender, for issues and stories relating to contemporary gender; and FringeStream, highlighting people and organizations living on the fringes of society and how they're influencing mass culture.

Commenting on the launch, Pierpoint said: 'At The Sound, we spend every day speaking to people around the world; making sense of why things are happening and why people feel the way they do. The stories we experience are fascinating, insightful and entertaining and we want to bring them to life for our clients. We know there's nothing more interesting than understanding the why's behind the world and we're excited to be releasing content that delivers that insight in a real and authentic style'.
