IRI Launches eCommerce Measurement Service

April 21 2016

In the US, retail and healthcare data giant IRI has launched an eCommerce measurement and tracking service called E-Market Insights.

Robert TomeiThe new service provides information on eCommerce sales, growth, share and trends, allowing clients to measure and project CPG online sales activity across the US market at the category and brand level. Users get access to two years of historical data; e-POS data from retailers and manufacturers; and external financial, market and government eCommerce data sets.

This is the fourth component of IRI's eCommerce suite of solutions, sitting alongside its OmniChannel Shopper Behavior Insights, Digital Path-to-Purchase, and E-ShopperLink consumer segmentation - all of which are designed to improve understanding of online shopping and shopper trends for CPG manufacturers and retailers.

Robert Tomei (pictured), President of Consumer & Shopper Marketing, comments: 'By 2018, more than 50% of all CPG category market growth will be online, so it is critical for both CPG retailers and manufacturers to understand the impact of how consumers will be shopping online versus offline across their categories. With this solution, IRI empowers clients to stay ahead of the ever-changing eCommerce marketplace'.
