Omnicom Health Buys BioPharm Communications

Healthcare marketing and communications giant Omnicom Health Group has agreed to acquire Pennsylvania-based agency BioPharm Communications, a specialist in multichannel marketing programs aimed at physicians and healthcare practitioners. Terms were not disclosed.

Founded in New Hope, PA in 2005, BioPharm offers education for healthcare professionals via its Peer-to-Peer360º suite, helps build and differentiate brands via brand360°, and tracks engagement in real-time via the Insights360° customer relationship management platform.

BioPharm co-founders Jeff Persinger and Daniel Egeland will continue as President and CEO, and EVP and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, respectively, while Norm Phillips will remain Chief Strategy Officer; Steve Carickhoff COO and Lars Nordmann, Head of Analytics. The transaction should close before the end of June, subject to regulatory approval.
