Shapiro+Raj Buys Social Media Listening Firm MutualMind

Research and insights firm Shapiro+Raj has acquired real-time social media listening and analytics specialist MutualMind. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Zain RajHeadquartered in Chicago, with additional offices in New York and Pune, India, Shapiro+Raj was formed in 2014 when business transformation specialist Zain Raj (pictured) acquired a majority interest in independent MR firm Shapiro. MutualMind offers a listening and management system to help brands monitor and promote themselves on social media networks, while providing analytics and insights to increase ROI.

Shapiro+Raj will now combine MutualMind's digital technologies with its research and strategy products and services to provide researchers and brand strategists with market data and new consumer insights. Commenting on the acquisition, Raj said: 'With the capabilities provided by MutualMind, we can integrate primary research with focused digital data to provide solutions that aren't available anywhere else. This acquisition allows us to keep our finger on the pulse of consumers and influencers, bridging quantitative and qualitative research in a new way to provide multi-dimensional insights'.
