Revelator Launches Playlist Analytics Service

Music industry execs have a new tool with which to assess the potential and performance of tracks and artists, courtesy of Israel-based tech platform Revelator.

Revelator's data management platform features a dashboard to monitor individual or multiple tracks and artist playlist performance over time, across countries and cities. The new tool follows the firm's recently-launched Mobile Analytics App, and continues its mission to provide end-to-end sales and marketing intelligence for the music industry. Playlist Analytics tracks playlist activity on both Spotify and Apple Music - the first time the two have been seen side by side, according to the firm - and coverage of other digital music services will follow. Data comes both from curated and third party playlists.

According to Revelator, rights holders can now make informed decisions about play listing strategy across different platforms, while labels, artists and managers can better understand where discovery takes place and how users are interacting with their artists or tracks. The tool also makes it easier to identify playlist creators for targeting purposes; and more features such as source of stream and play duration are coming soon.
