ABC and Nielsen Launch Indian Digital Measure

In India, newspaper and magazine circulation measurement body the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) has partnered with Nielsen to launch a solution for accredited digital measurement.

Shashidhar SinhaThe solution, which will go live in the third quarter, measures audiences across PC and mobile, and provides assessment of online text content, including performance metrics such as reach, frequency and demographics. It will be added to ABC's existing circulation audit service for publications. In a statement, the ABC said this is the first initiative to offer industry]accredited digital measurement across the continent.

ABC Chairman Shashidhar Sinha (pictured) comments: 'Because of the rate at which spends are shifting to digital, it has now become imperative to have a transparent system for understanding digital audiences, whether they are accessing information on web sites or apps, from their PCs, tablets or mobile phones. This is a historic moment, as for the first time in India, an industry body has started a service of this kind'.
