WPP's Grey Buys Majority Stake in Famous

WPP-owned ad network Grey Group has acquired a majority stake in the holding company of Brussels-based creative agency Famous, whose big data services include web analytics, customer segmentation, A/B testing and social media measurement. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Marc FauconnierFounded in 1998 and led by CEO Marc Fauconnier (pictured), Famous 'creates' in three languages: French, Flemish and English, and its services include creative and design, strategy and innovation, digital strategy and production, data and performance marketing, and PR. The firm also offers conversion rate optimisation, KPI dashboarding, remarketing, and data visualization.

For the year ended 31st December 2015, Famous' revenue was approximately EUR 8.1m. Following the acquisition, the company will rebrand as FamousGrey, strengthening Grey's position as a provider of creative and full-service marketing solutions in Belgium. WPP says following the UK's referendum decision to leave the European Union, it will place an even greater emphasis on growth in Western Continental Europe.
