Dallas Proximity Targeting Firm Acquired

Two Dallas, Texas-based ad tech companies are combining, with the acquisition of Meteora Media by StaMedia Group. The buy adds the former's customized audience targeting and segmentation software to the latter's ad management, customer engagement and prospecting tools.

StaMedia's existing offering allows browsers to request further information from an advertiser without interrupting their current browsing behaviour, be it web site, video viewing, app or whatever. Meteora combines web tracking with third party data and real-time bidding software for informed targeting of ads, including location-based proximity targeting. Integration of the two will begin immediately.

Shawn Sandifer, co-founder and President of StaMedia Group says that with the buy 'we have birthed a digital offering unlike anything else in the marketplace'. He adds: 'We are excited to have both companies under one roof and look to the future with nothing but optimism!' Nicholas Waken-Paschal, founder of Meteora, says proximity targeting is just one of more than 30 apps the firm has been able to create in house, adding: 'I'm extremely excited about teaming up with the StaMedia enterprise and I can't wait to show our customers the next wave of apps we have in the works'.
