In the US, Lieberman Research Worldwide (LRW) has acquired social media insights company MotiveQuest for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2003 by ad industry veteran David Rabjohns (pictured), MotiveQuest collects custom curated consumer data from social networks, blogs and forums. It also uses proprietary data and analytics tools, deployed through a team of market research strategists. Following the acquisition, Rabjohns will continue to lead the company, which will be named LRWMotiveQuest and be merged with LRW's social media practice, team and technology. LRWMotiveQuest leadership will also include Brook Miller as CTO, and Kirsten Recknagel and Zack Nippert as General Managers.
This is the third in LRW's planned series of acquisitions supported with funding from Tailwind Capital, following the purchase of Texas-based community insight platform icanmakeitbetter, and UK-based online community specialist Tonic Insight. David Sackman, Chairman and CEO of LRW, comments: 'Social and digital analytics are a big part of the future of consumer insights. To date, the early providers have been offering software with lots of data, but no insights. We looked everywhere to find a company that cared as much as LRW about providing consulting to drive business decisions, and we found David and the MotiveQuest team'.
