WPP Public Sector Group Opens in Singapore

Marcoms giant WPP has launched its Government & Public Sector Practice in Singapore, to be led by Executive Director Cecilia Wong.

Cecilia WongSet up in 2014, the practice provides a range of services such as communications for development, public policy and services; public sector recruitment; country branding and tourism, trade and investment marketing; and digital government. It also serves as a gateway to the group's public sector resources, and partners with academics and innovators on research and development initiatives. Working with more than 60 governments across 112 countries, the practice currently has hubs covering the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Middle East and North Africa, and sub-Saharan Africa, with plans to launch in India and Washington DC later this year.

In Singapore, the practice will work with regional government clients on areas including behaviour change programmes and citizen engagement. Wong (pictured) spent the past decade at Citi as Regional Marketing Director for the consumer business in Asia, prior to which she worked for Asia-based ad agencies Batey Ads, Saatchi & Saatchi, Landor Associates, M&C Saatchi, DMB&B, and J. Walter Thompson.
