MarketsandMarkets Launches North American HQ

India-based market research agency MarketsandMarkets has launched a North American headquarters in Seattle, Washington, where it has hired a number of execs including Gartner veterans Dan Holmes and Frank Capovilla.

The company currently employs more than 850 full-time analysts delivering quant research, market sizing and insights on niche markets, at offices in Hadapsar Pune, India, and Chicago, US. The firm releases around 1300 studies each year across twelve industry verticals such as aerospace and defense, automation and transport, chemicals, energy and healthcare.

Holmes (pictured) joins as Senior Vice President and Head of the North American Operations after fourteen years at Gartner, where he latterly served as Managing VP, Sales, responsible for $130m in annual revenue, headcount growth, regional development, and integration of acquired companies' products and services. Capovilla joins as Group Vice President, after eighteen years at Gartner, most recently as Managing Vice President responsible for high tech strategic product sales and services revenue.

In addition, former General Motors and Frost & Sullivan executive Lisa Whalen takes up the post of Vice President of Consulting for the Automotive practice, and former IHS exec Jagdish Rebello will serve as Global Vice President for the firm's Semiconductors and Electronics practice.
