Zitter Names Monahan CEO as Founder Steps Down

Life science intelligence firm Zitter Health Insights has announced that founder and CEO Mark Zitter will step down from the role and become Chairman, with current President John Monahan promoted to CEO from January 1st 2017.

Mark Zitter and John MonahanLaunched in 1989, the firm provides business intelligence to help life science companies, specialty pharmacies and managed care organizations get the right drugs to the right patients. Services include syndicated subscription research and advisory services.

Zitter will remain a major shareholder in the privately-held business, which as The Zitter Group originally combined conference production and custom research on managed care trends. The business was renamed Zitter Health Insights in 2013 as it transitioned to a syndicated research and BI firm. Monahan joined in 2014 from Barnabas Health, where he was SVP of Corporate Services, having previously held President and/or CEO in the Global Pharmaceutical Solutions Division of Wolters Kluwer Health, IC Axon and Innovex Inc., part of Quintiles.

Zitter says Monahan 'has a long and accomplished history as a results-driven leader', adding: 'He knows how to focus a business on growth, how to successfully create products that meet customer needs, and how to get the best out of everyone who works with and for him'.
