Razorfish Hires CERN and Harvard Data Scientist

October 4 2016

In New York, Publicis-owned full-service digital agency Razorfish has hired former Harvard physicist Kevin Mercurio for the new role of Director of Data Science for its COSMOS platform.

Kevin MercurioMercurio (pictured) previously served as Lead Data Scientist at Insight Data Science, which provides post-doctoral training fellowship to bridge the gap between academia and data science. Earlier, he directed a program for PhDs moving into data science careers. Prior to this, Mercurio worked for Harvard University, and was Data Quality Coordinator at particle physics research laboratory CERN in Geneva.

He joins following the launch of the COSMOS cognitive marketing intelligence platform, and will help Razorfish to predict the needs of consumers along the path-to-purchase. He reports to Chief Intelligence Officer Samih Fadli, who comments: 'The importance of data availability and intelligence powered by machine learning is much bigger than anyone can anticipate, as marketers are increasingly needing to compete for the attention of their customers in real time. Adding Kevin to our team allows us to super charge our marketing intelligence capabilities in order to meet the surging demand from clients for highly intelligent and sophisticated experiences'.
