Change at the Top for Critical Mention

Broadcast, online and social media analyst Critical Mention has named a new CEO, Don Yount, and announced management changes, accompanying 'significant growth' in its user base.

Yount (pictured, above), who has been the company's President since March, succeeds company founder Sean Morgan, who moves to become Chairman of the Board of Directors. Yount was previously President of cloud networking technology company Corente, which was acquired by Oracle. Previous to this he was EVP and COO of TVI Corp, operating principal at Mid-Atlantic Venture Funds, and worked in a number of executive positions in corporate strategy and finance at media and software firms.

Meanwhile Steve Shannon (pictured, below), who has led the firm's sales and account management teams for seven years, is promoted to SVP, Sales and Marketing, and will drive an integrated approach to growing the company's brand and customer base. Simultaneously, Critical Mention has consolidated its technology teams into two groups, Engineering and Technical Operations, both reporting to SVP Nancy Ellman.

Critical Mention monitors global media in real-time - encompassing broadcast, online and social media content - providing advanced analytics tools. Founded in 2002 in New York City, the company says new customer acquisition grew 45% in the third quarter and new bookings revenue increased 67% over the same period last year, without additional recruitment.
