comScore Retires (Compete) PRO Service

November 1 2016

In the US, comScore is retiring its PRO online measurement service (previously known as Compete PRO), and partnering with digital intelligence specialist SimilarWeb to offer the latter's competitive intelligence platform to existing PRO clients.

comScore to Replace (Compete) PRO ServicecomScore acquired Compete PRO from Kantar last year, as part of a strategic transaction realigning market research capabilities across the two businesses. What then became known simply as PRO, combines site analytics, search analytics and audience measurement in a single service. From December 31st PRO will no longer be available to comScore clients - many have already moved over to SimilarWeb PRO, and the remainder will have the opportunity to do so by the end of the year.

SimilarWeb PRO offers analysis of the performance of a competitor's web site traffic and mobile applications. Data available includes user engagement metrics such as monthly visits, visit duration, page views and bounce rate; along with geographic traffic details and audience interests.

Michael Perlman, comScore SVP, comments: 'We are delighted to be working with SimilarWeb on this transition, and Compete customers will now have access to the next generation global digital intelligence solution covering 190 countries and spanning desktop, mobile web and mobile apps'.
