Funds for PR and Media Measurement Firm TrendKite

Austin, Texas-based PR measurement and media monitoring specialist TrendKite has received $16m in a Series D funding round, which brings its total raised to date to more than $35m.

The firm uses big data analytics for real-time detection of brand-relevant news, and provides qualitative analysis of brands and their competitors, as well as industry trends. Clients are offered understanding of their overall press coverage, along with insights and predictive analytics concerning marcoms ROI.

New funding was led by Adams Street Partners, with participation from Battery Ventures, Mercury Fund and Noro-Moseley Partners. CEO Erik Huddleston (pictured) comments: 'This fundraise is about accelerating our company growth, while increasing R&D to fuel our product roadmap and launches, and continuing to increase our market share in a $32bn marketing technology market'.
