Big Data Insight Firm Qrious Names New CEO

In New Zealand, big data insights specialist Qrious has appointed David Leach as Chief Executive Officer, following the promotion of Ed Hyde to CEO of its parent company, Spark Ventures.

Qrious focuses on helping businesses and public sector organisations convert their data into insight. Last year, the firm partnered with Roy Morgan Research to offer the latter's clients an in-depth understanding of the trends, needs and wants of New Zealanders and their communities. Leach (pictured), who takes up his new post in January, worked previously for nine years in a variety of roles at healthcare IT provider Orion Health, most recently as SVP, responsible for the Enterprise HIS product line.

Hyde, whom he replaces, has moved to telecoms company Spark Ventures (formerly Telecom New Zealand) as CEO, and said in a statement: 'Leach is an exceptional leader with a wealth of experience gained in one of New Zealand's most successful high tech software companies, Orion Health.
