Tapad Hires Data Science Team Leader

New York-based cross-media marketing technology specialist Tapad has appointed Igor Elbert as Vice President of Data Science, responsible for leading the Data Science team.

Igor ElbertTelenor Group-owned Tapad offers a range of solutions for cross-device retargeting, mobile retargeting and mobile audience buying. Its 'Device Graph' targeting system examines 'trillions' of data points every month, to determine if different devices are owned by the same person; while its Viewable Exposure Time metric identifies the optimal amount of time a consumer spends with an ad before they take action.

Elbert (pictured) joins with more than two decades' software engineering and data science experience. Most recently, he handled predictive analytics and data mining at Gilt Groupe, before which he served as VP, Quantitative Analytics at Barnes and Noble. Additionally, he has held a number of software development and consulting positions at firms including Teradata and Salomon Brothers.

In his new role, Elbert will apply advanced machine learning and graph techniques to the firm's analytics and programmatic ad buying solutions. He reports to co-founder and CTO Dag Liodden, who comments: 'Igor has the rare combination of creative and analytical skills, making him a superior choice to lead the data science team.
