In the UK, retail sector specialist ABA Research has appointed former Camelot Head of Insight Nick Bonney as Managing Director. He will take up the post next February, replacing founder Alison Bainbridge who will remain active in the business.
Founded in 1994, St Albans and London-based ABA uses a set of proprietary tools and techniques to uncover how consumer emotions can help shape retail propositions, and track both the brand and the customer experience.
Bonney (pictured) will join after nearly four years leading the Insight team at Camelot UK. Before this, he was Market & Customer Insight Director at EE, and he spent eleven years at Orange, latterly as UK Market Insight Director. Earlier in his career, Bonney worked agency side as Research Manager at Maritz Research, and Field Manager at RDSi. He has also been involved with the MRS and AURA for several years.
Bainbridge, who will maintain her involvement with key accounts and developing new propositions, comments: 'Nick's appointment will bring new energy and a fresh perspective to our clients and team. In particular, as mobile and retail move closer together, his industry knowledge will prove invaluable in helping our clients to develop winning propositions and stay one step ahead'.
