Protobrand CEO Takes Majority Stake in the Company

December 8 2016

Anders Bengtsson, the CEO of US-based boutique insights and strategy consultancy Protobrand, has acquired a majority stake in the company, after recently buying out co-founder Phil Granof's share. The firm has also secured new investors and strengthened its management team.

Anders BengtssonGranof and Bob Robbins set up Boston-based Protobrand in 1999. The firm's flagship Meta4 Insight tool is used to tap into consumers' deep-seated perceptions and goals, using a proprietary image database to encourage 'non-literal thinking' and reveal people's unconscious minds. Bengtsson (pictured) joined in 2008 as VP, and took up his current position more than three years ago.

In addition, Protobrand has welcomed several new, but unnamed, investors. It has also formed a new management team, comprising Pal Marton Afzelius, VP of Client Services; Irina Zilberman, Research Director; Hongyu Zhou, Technology Director; Annika Henricsson, VP of Client Services; and recently appointed Peter Costa, VP of Client Services.
