Big Data Specialist Enlighten Acquired

US-based national security specialist MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB) has acquired Enlighten IT Consulting (EITC), whose solutions include big data analytics.

EITC will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary, reporting directly to MacB President and CEO Sid Fuchs. MacB delivers advanced engineering services, cyber security and product solutions, and has made two previous acquisitions - Secure Computing and Communications in 2013, and Commonwealth Technology, Inc. in 2014 - as it moves into what Fuchs calls 'highly valued markets with leading-edge, transformational capabilities'.

Enlighten was founded in 2007 to provide secure cloud engineering, analytics, and big data solutions to the defence and intelligence communities, and its offer includes the proprietary Rapid Analytic Deployment and Management Framework (RADMF) which allows the setting up of key elements of a big data platform 'within minutes'.

MacB has Corporate Headquarters in Dayton, OH and National Capital Headquarters in Vienna, VA, with more than 1,500 employees worldwide.

Shawn Justice, President and CEO of EITC, says the buy 'not only complements our current cyber security offerings, but also adds additional engineering capabilities and scale that will have a significant impact on our ability to support National Security customers'.
