Burton-Taylor Acquired by Financial Firm

January 30 2017

Financial brokerage and FTSE 250 company TP ICAP has acquired assets of MR, analytics and business consulting firm Burton-Taylor International Consulting LLC, via its data & analytics division. Founder and Managing Partner Douglas Taylor will join TP ICAP.

Douglas TaylorThe buy is the first for newly-merged TP ICAP, formerly Tullet Prebon Plc, and reflects 'a growing demand from clients for more granular, in-depth research within new and existing sectors', according to the company.

Burton-Taylor's reports include market sizing and market share information, and cover financial services, media, public relations and software markets. These will form the basis of a new business line for TP ICAP, which will expand into new sectors, 'making Data & Analytics a key part of its ongoing growth story'. CEO John Phizackerley says the firm has 'ambitious, strategic growth plans... focused on delivering an industry-leading and world class service to our clients through impartial guidance, robust technology and a unique depth of market insight'.

Taylor (pictured) says the sale will give his firm access to additional expertise, resources and investment, adding: 'TP ICAP shares my core values and together we will remain committed to the production of market-leading, independent research that equips our customers to make better, more informed decisions on key issues such as mergers, acquisitions and other strategic investments'.

Frank Desmond, CEO of the data and analytics division, comments: 'Doug's high profile, sharp insights and strong business leadership will be an asset to our team. Together, we will enhance the range of Doug's services, providing clients with valuable insights to inform their decision making and business planning'.
