Bold Expansion Plan for Simon-Kucher

Bonn, Germany-based pricing and strategy consultancy Simon-Kucher & Partners has announced further rapid expansion, and an ambitious long-term growth target - aiming to double in size to 2,000 staff by 2023.

The firm says 2017 started 'exceptionally well' with headcount passing 1,000 (from around 980 at the turn of the year). Since its foundation in 1985, the company has averaged growth of 15-20 percent per annum. CEO Dr. Georg Tacke (pictured) spells out: 'For the first 1,000 employees, it took us 32 years. We are planning for another 1,000 within the next five to six years. That's 2,000 employees by 2023'. Headcount was c.500 in early 2011, and 760 four years later. Last month it announced revenue up sixteen percent to EUR 241m, the US leading the way with a rise of 30 percent.

Simon-Kucher puts its success down to a 'clear specialization' in pricing, marketing, and sales, and says in the age of 'digitalization' these services are 'in demand like never before'. It aims to open new offices in Hong Kong and Shanghai during 2017.
