Ipsos Launches Public Affairs Division in India

Ipsos has officially launched its Public Affairs division in India, under the leadership of Parijat Chakraborty, who joined the group in January.

Parijat ChakrabortyThe division specialises in conducting research around public opinion and reputation, to understand the perceptions of citizens, public service users and other stakeholders, including members, constituents, employees, donors, health professionals, and voters. Chakraborty (pictured) joined in January as Executive Director and Head of Ipsos Public Affairs, India, after ten years at TNS, latterly as Executive Director and Business Head, managing P&L for multiple SBUs. Earlier in his career he worked at IDC, NFO-MBL and ORG-Marg (ACNielsen India).

Ipsos India CEO Amit Adarkar says the division will act as a facilitator for providing information to shape policies and programmes. Darrell Bricker, CEO, Ipsos Public Affairs adds: 'India is at a very crucial juncture where public opinion plays an integral role in nation building. We are excited to expand our Public Affairs segment in India and it is very timely for us to invest our local capabilities in social research and development'.
