Spotify's Uttley to Lead AKQA Research and Insights

In San Francisco, WPP-owned digital agency AKQA has appointed former Spotify Insights VP Mark Uttley as Group Strategy Officer, in charge of its Research and Insights division.

Mark UttleyUttley (pictured) joins from music streaming service Spotify, where he served as VP, Global Consumer Insights, in charge of a team of 23 researchers and data scientists delivering consumer segmentation and brand tracking across 25 markets. Prior to this, he worked as Director, Global Consumer Insight, Multimedia for Bloomberg; Director/VP, Global Consumer Insight at Sony Music Entertainment; Senior Manager, Consumer Insight at AOL; and a Research Manager at Ipsos MORI.

In his new role, Uttley will report to Sebastian Gunnewig, Executive Director of Brand Strategy at AKQA's San Francisco office. Simon Jefferson, MD in San Francisco, says Uttley's experience and skillset 'will help us deepen our understanding of consumers and create new products and services that will delight them'.
