New Funds for Intent Data Specialist Socedo

In the US, customer communication specialist Socedo has raised $1m in additional seed funding, which it will use to further develop its platform with a focus on predictive intelligence and new data sources.

Aseem Badshah and Kevin YuFounded in 2012 by Aseem Badshah and Kevin Yu (pictured), the Seattle, WA-based firm uses intent data gathered from social media, which it then integrates with marketing automation and CRM systems such as Marketo, Hubspot, Oracle Eloqua and Salesforce. This enables it to discover, engage with and qualify social media prospects; and sync new leads with existing systems.

The new investment has been led by TechStars Ventures, Vulcan Capital, Divergent Ventures and a number of angel investors, and brings its total seed funding to $2.5m. Socedo will use this capital to add predictive intelligence for use in clients' ad targeting, and develop predictive algorithms that use social media signals to understand which leads are most likely to convert. In addition, the firm will add new data sources from the broader web, to provide clients more behavioral data about their target audiences. It will also build new solutions to help B2B marketers use real-time, contact-level insights from social media activities.
