Pitney Bowes Sets Up Location Data Practice

In the US, business technology specialist Pitney Bowes has set up a cross-company Data Practice, to help clients use location-based data to accelerate their digital transformation.

Dan Adams and Olga LagunovaThe firm's services range from shipping and mailing to customer information management and location intelligence, with the last including geocoding, world boundaries, streets, demographics and points of interest.

The new division will help clients integrate and enrich their data with location-based information, to help them better understand and engage with their customers. Dan Adams, Vice President of Product Management of Data, will work with an extended team to bring together the company's portfolio of data assets; while Olga Lagunova, Chief Data and Analytics Officer, will lead the research and development of new data products across the group.

Commenting on the launch, Adams said: 'Our objective is to support our client's desire to increase the value of location-based data and deliver competitive differentiation. Data has been at the core of our business for several decades. We have access to billions of unique and proprietary data points, and we have the ability to transform them into actionable insights'.
