Bazaarvoice Rolls Out Reviews and Ratings Solution

Consumer-generated content and personalization specialist Bazaarvoice has launched Brand Edge, a tool to help marketers collect reviews and ratings and distribute them to its network of retail e-commerce sites.

The company says more than half a billion consumers view and share authentic consumer-generated content on the network, which includes 5,000 brand and retail sites. The resulting first-party data on shopper behavior fuels the firm's targeted advertising and personalization solutions.

The new Brand Edge ratings and reviews solution does not require e-commerce implementation, allowing marketers to quickly get started with the collection and dissemination of content. Clients can also make use of Bazaarvoice's sampling services and its shopper community TryIt to trial new products and collect reviews.

CEO Gene Austin says many brands of all sizes generate the bulk of their sales through their retail channels, versus their own site. 'Brand Edge gives them much-needed tools to generate trusted content and get it in front of consumers wherever they shop. Additionally, retailers in our network are eager to receive additional content from brands to cover more products and influence purchase decisions'.
