Crimson Hexagon Adds Image Analysis

August 3 2017

Social media analyst Crimson Hexagon has added proprietary image analysis technology to its offer, to help brands uncover insights contained in consumers' photos.

Errol ApostolopoulosThe company uses patented technology and an in-house data library of more than one trillion posts to help clients answer business questions through insights derived from social media. For its new service, the firm's analytics engine is applied to images, to recognize scenes, objects, actions, faces and logos, and help brands learn who, how and where consumers engage with their products. Using the service, brands can analyse images to understand the top objects and scenes that appear in photos, and use that insight to tailor their marketing campaigns, drive product enhancements, and identify influencers.

Errol Apostolopoulos (pictured), SVP Product, comments: 'The future of content is visual, and brands that rely on logo recognition alone are missing an unwritten part of the conversation. As consumers, especially millennials, continue to create visual content, our system's machine-learning-based algorithm is well-equipped to ingest, store and classify those images and videos for our clients, so they can get the clearest insights about their customers'.
