New Leaders for Indian Audience Metrics Body MRUC

The Board of Governors of Indian audience measurement body MRUC has elected Ashish Bhasin as Chairman and Pratap Pawar as Vice Chairman

Ashish BhasinThe vote, at the 23rd Annual General Meeting held in Mumbai on Wednesday, was unanimous. Bhasin is Chairman and CEO South Asia for Dentsu Aegis Network, and replaces I Venkat; while Pawar replaces Sanjay Tripathy.

Venkat acknowledged that the development of the IRS study during his tenure had been 'a long wait for everybody' but said it was worthwhile in 'bringing out a world-class study'. He added: 'I'm excited at the prospect of Ashish and Pratap taking up the leadership - it's going to bring a whole lot of good to media research in the country. MRUC is well poised as of date to serve the industry's need for reliable and accurate research'.

Quoted in www.indiatimes.com , Bhasin said: 'I'm delighted to be elected as the Chairman of MRUC. The industry body has been in existence over two decades and its journey has been outstanding so far. I look forward to working closely with the Board of Governors and the RSCI TechCom members to further strengthen MRUC's role of providing gold standard research to the industry'.

According to Pawar, 'There is a lot to be done in the area of media research, more towards being relevant in a scenario where business problems are mounting and consumer preference and behaviour fast changing'. He added: 'I look forward to this opportunity and in the journey ahead I hope to uphold the values and principles of MRUC'.
