Painted Dog Research Launches Data Tech Division

October 12 2017

Perth, Australia and Bristol, UK-based Painted Dog Research has launched a Data Technology division, led by Director Matt Gibbs, who is based in the UK. Meanwhile former ThinkField exec Andrew Lim has recently joined the company's Data Tech team in Australia.

Matt GibbsPainted Dog works with a broad range of clients on usage analysis projects, customer journey mapping, market segmentation, and product / service testing and optimisation. The firm also offers taste testing, web site usability testing and optimisation services. The new division will offer 'a swathe of new tech offerings'. Gibbs joined as an Account Manager in 2012, having previously worked for Market Measures and Zussi Research. He is now tasked with driving technological innovation in the MR and business consulting sectors in the two countries.

Principal Justin Scerri comments: 'The task for us is to help our clients stay ahead of their competitors through the effective use of technology. There are two clear paths that technology is taking us on, the first path is about delivering information faster, more accurately and cheaper than ever before, heavily influenced by major advances in automation and real-time reporting solutions. The second path is about giving deeper and more realistic insights via the use of new and emerging tech such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, virtual and augmented realities, and more'.

Automation is 'the word of the hour, with computer processes increasingly replacing human effort across our industry and beyond' according to Painted Dog, with Gibbs adding: 'As companies adapt to automation, skills will have to be transferred and new types of professionals will emerge'.
