Irish Firms Partner for Social Media TV Analysis

November 22 2017

Social network analyst Engager has partnered with TAM Ireland to measure how the country's TV audiences engage with social media.

Charlie Byrne and Jill McGrathAccording to Irish Tech News, the deal will allow broadcasters, ad agencies and production companies to understand how their audiences are behaving across the top seven social media networks, while they watch TV. TAM's existing panel of 1,050 homes will be the basis for TV measurement, supported by Engager's social media analysis data. Charlie Byrne, co-founder and CEO of Engager, says it is 'refreshing' to see some of the Irish networks and agencies adapting early to understand the data behind the shift in content consumption.

Jill McGrath, CEO of TAM Ireland, adds: 'The Engager data will provide us with further evidence of the power of TV and its impact on the social media activity of viewers. The knowledge of this type of viewer behaviour will provide added insights into the strong bond viewers have with the programmes they are watching and give us a greater sense of engagement levels'.
