Chicago-based social media management, advocacy and analytics specialist Sprout Social has acquired Seattle-based analytics provider Simply Measured for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2010, Simply Measured offer a suite of solutions which aggregates social media and web data from dozens of sources, and presents it in a single dashboard that can be accessed and shared across a team. The tools are used to understand social media conversations relevant to a brand; measure brand, competitor and influencer profiles; and track how web content is shared across any social media channel - and the impact on web traffic, conversions and revenue.
According to Sprout Social, which last year raised $42m in a Series C round of funding, the acquisition expands the depth of its current analytics offering and positions the company to 'lead the social analytics and listening markets'. The merged firm's global headquarters will remain in Chicago, with Simply Measured's Seattle office serving as a west coast hub, alongside Sprout's San Francisco outpost. Both firms are Twitter Official Partners.
Justyn Howard (pictured), CEO and co-founder of Sprout Social, comments: 'Bringing Simply Measured into Sprout's portfolio is a pivotal moment for us and our valued customers. We've long admired Simply Measured and their approach to technology and innovation, so are happy to welcome their passionate, talented team members and unique tools to Sprout'.
