Shapiro+Raj Hires Costa to Lead West Coast Expansion

In the US, brand and marketing insights company Shapiro+Raj has hired Gwen Costa as Senior Vice President, leading its West Coast expansion.

Headquartered in Chicago, with additional offices in New York and Pune, India, Shapiro+Raj was formed in 2014 when business transformation specialist Zain Raj acquired a majority interest in independent MR firm Shapiro. Costa (pictured) joins with more than 25 years' experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. She most recently served as SVP at healthcare MR firm AplusA Bella Falla, prior to which she developed the West Coast healthcare practice for Harris Interactive. Earlier, she held sales client-side sales positions at Merck, AstraZeneca and Tokos Medical Corporation, before moving to Baxter, and then Amgen.

As well establishing Shapiro+Raj West Coast operations, Costa will now serve the company's clientele throughout California. Commenting on the appointment, Raj said: 'The Shapiro+Raj model is about connecting research and insights with brand strategy capabilities. Gwen personifies this model. She is a growth-minded research professional who has pharma experience that spans the entire product lifecycle. I can't think of anyone better to serve our rapidly growing West Coast client base'.
