Médiamétrie Launches 'Global Audio' Study

January 31 2019

Audience measurement agency Médiamétrie has launched a study called 'Global Audio', looking at the development and consumption of audio services in France.

Julie TerradeMédiamétrie observes, measures and analyzes public behavior and market trends in the usage of television, radio, Internet, cinema, mobile telephony and cross media. In 2017, the firm launched a service to measure and understand the impact TV programmes are having on social media activity across the country.

Global Audio captures all usage across the audio environment, beginning with a survey of 4,000 online users aged 15+ about their audio consumption of radio (FM, live and catch-up), music streaming and personal music library, original podcasts and audio books. The firm will then provide analysis of the motivations and listening contexts of these practices, with initial results released in the first quarter.

Julie Terrade (pictured), Director of the National division within Médiamétrie's Radio department, comments: 'This study decodes the developments in a rapidly changing audio market. Global Audio maps the audio universe, capturing the choices, motivations and expectations of French listeners in order to inform market stakeholders'.
