In Canada, insight tech business Rival Technologies is launching a mobile and messaging insights and engagement platform called Chat Lab.
Rival was set up in 2017 by holding company Reid Campbell Group, which was founded by former Millward Brown Global CEO Eileen Campbell, Vision Critical founder Andrew Reid and his sister Jennifer as a 'launch pad' for innovation in consumer insights. According to the firm, Chat Lab has been developed to 'close the gap' between the way people live their digital lives and how market research is conducted - in particular consumers moving away from e-mail and onto messaging apps.
The solution takes advantage of chat, voice and video technologies, such as Facebook Messenger, Snapchat and Instagram, used by mobile-first consumers. Reid (pictured) comments: 'To get an accurate read of consumer attitudes and opinions, companies need to engage with people where they are. Chat Lab is designed to help companies do this by facilitating ongoing conversations in mobile apps and messaging platforms that today's consumers use. Together with the technologists and researchers that make up Rival, I am excited to once again introduce a solution that rivals traditional research methods and helps companies be more agile using conversational technology'.
