PCMA Launches Events Sector Intelligence Tool

May 28 2019

In Chicago, the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) is launching a service called BEAM, to provide insights into industry trends and behavior around the business events sector.

Sherrif KaramatThe association offers education, networking and market intelligence for the global business events industry. The BEAM solution (Business Events Analytics/Metrics) has been developed to provide a 'comprehensive view' of the sector, drawing data from multiple sources to better understand individuals, organizations and face-to-face events. This is used to help predict the behavior of business event participants, and thus help deliver more engaging and relevant experiences. Users can also organize large, unstructured amounts of data to reveal patterns and trends in behavior and interactions. Insights will be provided at the general level, ie from all industries, and by sector , tailored to each user's needs.

BEAM was developed by PCMA in partnership with big data intelligence provider Infogroup, which will independently manage the data and analytics process to ensure the service meets security and privacy standards. Sherrif Karamat (pictured), President and CEO of the association, comments: 'We wanted to create a unique product unlike any other in the marketplace to unleash the extraordinary power of data to advance research, identify industry trends and create predictive analytics that will guide business event professionals to make informed and strategic business decisions'.
