Political Pollster Opens Comms Research Agency Resolve

August 8 2019

In Australia, political pollster Jim Reed has set up his own communications research agency, Resolve, based in Sydney.

Jim ReedReed (pictured) has worked on numerous research-driven campaigns, including twenty elections (with sixteen wins and two hung parliaments to just two losses). Most recently, he was Group Director of Research & Strategy at C|T Group (formerly Crosby|Textor) and Senior Research Director at Newgate Communications, prior to which, he was a pollster for Yes Equality (marriage equality); for the Indigenous Voice (recognition referendum); and, on various tax, legislation and funding campaigns.

His new agency Resolve has been set up to bring insights from political research methodologies to corporate marketing campaigns. Services will include campaign strategy, segmentation, opinion driver modelling, values analysis, collateral and advertising assessment, journey mapping and campaign tracking.

Reed told online publication Mumbrella, that his firm will provide quality research that goes way beyond the kind of methodologies that failed the published polls at the 2019 federal election. 'Corporate Australia simply cannot rely on quick and cheap research to make critical decisions anymore. This means more thoughtful design, mixing qualitative and quantitative techniques, and quality execution. It means deeper insight, higher accuracy and greater speed at every stage,' Reed added.
