IAB President Patrick Dolan Resigns

In New York, the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) has announced that its President, Patrick Dolan, will depart in June 2020 to pursue an undisclosed 'entrepreneurial opportunity'.

Dolan (pictured) joined in 2007 as SVP and Chief Financial Officer, and was subsequently promoted to EVP and Chief Operating Officer, and then named President of the association in 2017. He previously held senior roles at DoubleClick (acquired by Google), where he worked on re-targeting and data-driven behavioral advertising initiatives. Earlier, he worked for The Locomotion Channel and the Early Learning Coalition of South Florida.

During Dolan's tenure, IAB has grown from fifteen staff, 200 member companies, and $6m in annual revenues, to nearly 80 staff, 750 member companies, and more than $35m in annual revenues. Dolan founded IAB's Data Council and Data Center of Excellence, co-founded the Mobile Center of Excellence, and was a founding executive Board member of the IAB Tech Lab. In addition, he is credited with advancing the organisation's thought leadership on the growing importance of data in marketing and media companies.

IAB CEO Randall Rothenberg said the organization has commenced a search for a successor to Dolan, and commissioned Ann Blinkhorn of the executive recruiting firm Blinkhorn to conduct the search. Thanking Dolan for his input, Rothenberg said: 'Under Patrick's steady hand, IAB has grown continually in stature and capability. We were on shaky financial ground when he arrived thirteen years ago, with significant debt and an operating deficit. Today, IAB is sound, growing, and powerful. Patrick has been a great partner over the years and IAB wouldn't be where it is without his leadership'.
