DJS Research Names First HR Manager

North of England-based full-service agency DJS Research has appointed Lucy Pawson as its first Human Resources (HR) Manager. The company has also hired former Gusto Research AD Helen Menzies as Associate Director; while filling six other roles in the company.

Owned by husband and wife team Danny and Ali Sims, Stockport-headquartered DJS, which also has an office in Leeds, works on both consumer and B2B projects across a variety of industry sectors, both in the UK and internationally. Pawson, who will be based in Stockport, spent the past eleven years at DHL, where as HR Resolution Manager, she provided support, coaching and advice to all parts of the business, including to senior managers, on the application of DHL employment policies. During this period, she gained experience of dealing with mass recruitment, restructure, training, engagement and resolution management, along with organisational culture and values. At DJS, her role will include traditional personnel and compliance elements, combined with broader strategic objectives around employee experience and engagement.

Menzies joins in Leeds after nearly a decade at qualitative specialist Gusto Research, where she worked across a wide range of client accounts, predominantly in the financial services sector and kids research. She began her career with research and marketing agency Audiences Yorkshire, delivering both qual and quant projects and large-scale benchmarking studies for the county's major visitor attractions. In her new role, Menzies will focus on delivering customer experience and satisfaction, exhibition evaluations, audience profiling and segmentation projects.

Further appointments in the Research team in both Stockport and Leeds include former Opinion Leader and ORC International exec Tanya Colbran;, Jack Watson, who previously worked at Illuminas; and former Gusto Research SRE Mike Desforges as Senior Research Executives. In addition, Saffron Goodwin and Francesca Barker have been promoted to the role of Junior Research Executive, after previously working in the company's Operations and CATI teams; and Madeleine McGuire joins the Field team as Junior Field Recruitment Executive.
