Merkle Analytics Leader Moves to Carat

January 31 2020

Dentsu Aegis has moved Peter Vandre, previously SVP, Global Data Science Leader at Merkle, across to its ad agency Carat in the new role of Chief Analytics Officer. Meanwhile DAN's CEO Tim Andree is taking a break for health reasons.

Peter VandreVandre has spent fifteen years at Merkle, now a subsidiary of Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN), most recently as SVP, Global M1 Data Science Leader, leading a team he launched in 2018 to centralize the group's expertise in people data, platforms and predictive analytics. Earlier he launched and grew Merkle's digital analytics practice to over 200 professionals and led the development of its data management platform (DMP). He holds an MBA from MIT.

In his new role Vandre is responsible for aligning the analytics capabilities of Carat and Merkle, to boost Carat's people-based services; and in the short-term will oversee analytics across all the group's media agencies, including Vizeum and dentsu X.

Separately, DAN CEO Tim Andree is to take a leave of absence for health reasons. CEO of Dentsu Group Inc, Toshihiro Yamamoto, who will take on the additional role of acting executive chair and CEO of DAN until his return, says that 'matters of health are the most important and I encourage him to take the time he needs to return to full health. I have worked with Tim for many years. He is loyal, committed and a trusted long-term leader within the Dentsu family. Tim has the full and ongoing support of the Dentsu Board. We wish him a very speedy and full recovery'. Andree joined Dentsu almost ten years ago from the NBA, where he was SVP of Marketing and Communications for four years. He was drafted in the NBA in the early 1980s by the Chicago Bulls, and played professional basketball across Europe.
