Two Acquisitions for Data Science Firm Schireson

New York-based data science, market research and analytics firm Schireson Associates has acquired two agencies, Blackbird and Stun Creative, to form a new company called 'Known'. Terms of the deals have not been disclosed.

Kern SchiresonBlackbird is a consumer intelligence-based brand strategy and business innovation agency; while LA-based Stun Creative delivers original content and advertising campaigns for clients, and provides creative development and execution for all media. Blackbird founder and CEO Ross Martin will now serve as President & CXO (Chief Experience Officer) of Known; while Stun Creative Principals Brad Roth and Mark Feldstein have been named Presidents of Known Studios. In addition, Jeff Kingsley, who has been serving as Chief Operating Officer of Schireson, takes on the position of President & COO of Known.

Kern Schireson (pictured), who recently returned to Schireson Associates after five years as Viacom's Chief Data Officer, will now serve as Known's Chairman & CEO. In this role, he will oversee the new team, which comprises more than 220 employees working across marketing science, strategy and creative at offices in New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Austin, Seattle and San Francisco.
