MRII Launches Reg Baker Awards Scholarship Program

April 17 2020

US-based non-profit education body Market Research Institute International (MRII) has introduced a scholarship program in honor of its former Executive Director Reg Baker, covering enrolment costs for the Principles Express family of courses.

Reg BakerFounded in 1996 by a consortium of industry leaders, MRII offers online market research courses via a partnership with the University of Georgia, authored and continually updated by industry subject matter experts. The series includes Principles of Market Research, Principles of Mobile Market Research and Principles of Pharmaceutical Market Research.

MRII says that after helping researchers around the world through curriculum development of the Market Research Core Body of Knowledge, it is now broadening its mission to provide funding to support professionals looking to improve their skills and enhance their career prospects, as well as those eager to enter the industry. As part of the new award, MRII will finance the enrolment costs for any one of the 'self-paced' Principles Express family of courses which Baker (pictured) envisioned and delivered during his four years as MRII Executive Director between 2014 and 2018. Baker has been active in the research industry for nearly 40 years and prior to his initial retirement in 2012, he was President and COO of Market Strategies International. Baker was also ESOMAR's first North American ambassador.

The MRII awards committee will consider applicants' eligibility requirements and selection criteria will include a financial need with limited or no employer financial support, as well as a desire to serve the insights and market research profession. Application details for the awards can be found at: www.surveygizmo.com/s3/5540220/e35f09ffeec6 and the next application deadline is May 31st.
