US-based data-driven marketing firm MediaMath has hired long-time Nielsen exec Eleni Nicholas for a newly created role, Chief Client Officer. In addition, Guillermo Abud joins as SVP of Business Development for Latin America and US Multicultural.
MediaMath uses machine learning tools giving marketers real-time access to first, second and third-party cross-media activity data. Nicholas (pictured) joins after 30 years at Nielsen, where she latterly served as FMCG Global Markets Group - Client Leader, based in Oxford in the UK. She joined Nielsen in 1990 as an RE in Cyprus, before taking roles in the UAE, Russia, Belgium and the Netherlands, and then serving as Group MD UK & Ireland. In addition, she launched new vertical practice areas of Nielsen Europe, and led diversity initiatives including the launch of Women in Nielsen for Europe, and participating as an active mentor for the Women's Leadership Program.
At MediaMath, Nicholas will lead all global teams working with clients to help them improve the return on their digital marketing investment. She will report to President Konrad Gerszke, who comments: 'Eleni's experience in developing and leading large global client relationships, her passion for building world-class teams, and her client-centric continuous improvement mind-set make her ideally suited to lead our client facing teams. I look forward to the many ways her leadership will improve relationships and results for our clients and partners'.
Separately, Abud joins with more than twenty years' experience, nine of which were spent at Publicis, latterly as VP Digital Director and Head of Programmatic, responsible for multicultural digital strategy. He will now support the firm's growth in Latin America by expanding agency partnerships and relationships with global clients in the region, reporting to regional GM Justin Kuykendall.
